Resume is a French word for summary whereas Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a Latin word for "course of life."  Although CV or curriculum vitae and a resume are used interchangeably usually a resume emphasizes on the skills where as a CV emphasizes on the academic accomplishments.   While creating a CV or Resume for the first time keep it short and crisp.  Always begin a resume or CV with your name and contact information.  Start with a powerful summary statement that describes you as a person, your career goals and your knowledge and passion for the role you are applying.
