Resume making Tips & Tricks for Freshers

Resume is a French word for summary whereas Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a Latin word for "course of life."

Although CV or curriculum vitae and a resume are used interchangeably usually a resume emphasizes on the skills where as a CV emphasizes on the academic accomplishments.

While creating a CV or Resume for the first time keep it short and crisp.

Always begin a resume or CV with your name and contact information.

Start with a powerful summary statement that describes you as a person, your career goals and your knowledge and passion for the role you are applying.

Next begin with your educational background and then include your work experience.

You may also include internship details, projects undertaken and any other special achievements.

Include numbers wherever possible and used Bullet points. Employees are highly responsive to measurable proven value and numbers can allow them to better understand the value you might bring to the position.

Use of professional font like Arial or Times New Roman and keep the font size between 10 and 12. You should also make sure that there are not many spaces so that the resume is easier to read.

Include only most relevant information and prioritize the most important information. Employees do not have how much time to go through each and every resume in detail. Research shows that hiring managers normally spend 10 to 15 seconds to screen a resume and only if they find the details relevant that they go through the entire resume. So if you are resume includes irrelevant or old information first there are chances that the hiring managers get distracted and your CV never gets a chance to go through the selection process.

Use active language in your resume. This means the use of power words like "achieved", "earned", "completed"or "accomplished".

Do highlight your willingness to learn. Keep References ready and mention that they will be provided upon further selection process.

Most important thing to do next is to Proof-read the resume. Grammatical errors or spelling mistakes are a big NO.

All the Best!!!
